On September 24, 2012, Dr. Gabriele Strauch, deputy director of the School of Language, Literature and Culture, and Dr. Minglang Zhou, director of the Chinese Department, SLLC, met with the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, discussed in depth the potential area of cooperation between UMD and BLCU. Director of the Dept. of International Cooperation and Exchange, Weimin Zhao and Deputy director Tieshi Ma attend the meeting. The meeting set the basis for the following programs:

1.     Long/short term exchange of teaching faculties.

2.    BLCU will send visiting graduate students to study at UMD.

3.     BLCU will recruit from UMD PhD graduates as teaching faculties at BLCU.

4.      UMD will send students majored in Chinese to study at BLCU as semester abroad program.

5.      Joint teaching program.

6.       Student programs such as exchange students, study abroad program and joint degree program.
